Matanataki

Human impact has caused major damage to our planet.

In response to the urgent threats we face, we believe in the ability of Pacific companies, entrepreneurs, and communities to be world leaders, building a liveable future through a regenerative relationship between enterprise, people, and the planet.

Empowering Change through Impact Investments.

Matanataki is a Fiji-based business development and investment management company that supports Pacific businesses whose collective vision is to restore health to Pacific lands, people and reefs.

We do this by providing tailored finance and active ownership support to financially, environmentally, and socially sustainable businesses in the high impact sectors of waste, fisheries, tourism, agriculture and marine management.

Coral reefs are our guiding star.

They are the heart of the Pacific's way of life and well being. Their health indicates the health of the whole.

Pacific reefs are resilient, but we need to reverse the local threats and get support to the people protecting and restoring our corals to give our reefs a chance to survive the impacts of climate change.

Invest in the Blue Pacific Continent.

The Pacific Ocean is significantly larger than the Earth’s entire landmass, encompassing around one-third of the Earth’s surface and supporting 80% of the world’s coral reefs which are vital for global marine food supply.

The Pacific has market-wide investment opportunities with significant potential for wise development. Matanataki supports businesses to be in the right relationship with the environment and people, sourcing and managing investment opportunities that deliver both financial and impact returns. We invite investors, who like us want to solve the urgent problem of ecological overshoot, to turn the idea that our region is “too small, too under developed” on its head. We invite investors instead to think of the Pacific as a microcosm of planet earth and a dollhouse for originating global financial, environmental and organisational solutions to the climate threats that our Pacific islands are on the front lines of.
